DEDHAM — The Dedham Planning Board approved a long-pending mixed-use project at 359 Washington Street and accepted the resignation of 23-year member Michael Podolsky. The board unanimously granted developer Tony Ferrara five zoning waivers and a special permit after peer reviewer Stephen Finland of Howard Stein Hudson Associates signed off on shoring and crosswalk plans. The board also approved a modified Star Market parking plan after member James F. McGrail objected that senior shoppers were being pushed away from the entrance.
A separate hearing on a three-lot subdivision at 1133 High Street drew objections from McGrail, who called Meadowbrook Road "anything but" safe, and was continued to September 9. Podolsky, who helped approve "the two largest projects in the history of the town," said his resignation takes effect July 23.
