DEDHAM — The Dedham Select Board approved a Class I license letting Rivian open an electric vehicle showroom at 250 Legacy Place, with online-only sales. The board also accepted $130,000 from a Community Compact Cabinet IT grant to digitize town records and $6,905.48 from a FIFA World Cup public safety grant, down from an initial allotment of about $219,000; Assistant Finance Director Rana Monadorfer said the amount was reduced once hotel bookings failed to materialize. One board member called the drop "a pretty significant" one.
The board approved a stock transfer for the restaurant Ochi, accepted 40 artworks for the Sawmill Lane pollinator pathway, and voted to accept all four applicants for four Commission on Disabilities vacancies. A member warned Franklin line rail service will be "completely down" on nine World Cup match days starting June 3.
