Planning Board approves two mixed-use projects
Dedham's Planning Board unanimously approved mixed-use developments at 359 Washington Street and at 50 and 49-57 Bridge Street, adding a combined 122 housing units, commercial space, parking and a public riverwalk along the Charles River.
The Dedham Planning Board unanimously approved two mixed-use developments at its Sept. 23, 2026 meeting, clearing the way for new housing and commercial space in Dedham Square and along the Charles River, the Town of Dedham announced Oct. 26.
At 359 Washington Street, a long-vacant commercial property in Dedham Square will be redeveloped into a four-story mixed-use building. The approved project includes 14 condominium units, consisting of one one-bedroom and 13 two-bedroom units, about 2,430 square feet of office space, 16 on-site parking spaces and secure indoor bicycle storage. The town said the redevelopment is expected to increase the tax base by an anticipated $60,000 and provide more homeownership opportunities for residents.
At 50 and 49-57 Bridge Street, the former Mosley function hall properties will be redeveloped into two mixed-use buildings. Combined, the approved projects include 108 residential units, 77 one-bedroom and 31 two-bedroom, along with about 6,797 square feet of commercial space and 141 on-site parking spaces with secure indoor bicycle storage. Seventeen of the units will be affordable. The plans also call for a 12,000-square-foot public riverwalk park along the Charles River and a 1,500-square-foot neighborhood parklet. The town said the Bridge Street projects are expected to increase the tax base by $144,000 once completed.
