Dedham's Select Board recap from its Sept. 23 meeting says Dedham Day has been postponed to Nov. 7 due to weather, with a rain date of Nov. 8, and the board voted to support the town's updated 2026 Open Space and Recreation Plan.
The Town of Dedham released a recap of the Sept. 23 Select Board meeting, held at Town Hall and via Teams.
Town Manager Leon I. Goodwin reported that Dedham Day was postponed to Nov. 7 because of weather, with a rain date of Nov. 8. Goodwin also said new educational signage has been installed along the Sawmill Park Pollinator Pathway, that the town is seeking two residents to take part in a regional climate resiliency planning effort with neighboring communities, and that residents are encouraged to sign up for the town's text notification program to receive updates about events and town news.
The Select Board voted to support the town's updated 2026 Open Space and Recreation Plan. The plan will be submitted to the Massachusetts Division of Conservation Services for review and approval.
Residents were invited to a Facilities Master Plan public forum held Oct. 7 at the Parks and Recreation Building, 310 Sprague Street. The forum was designed to focus on municipal buildings and gather community feedback on future facility needs.
Select Board members also recapped the community's recent 9/11 remembrance events, thanking volunteers, veterans organizations, sponsors and town staff who helped organize the observances. Several members noted strong community participation and positive feedback from residents.
The next Select Board meeting was scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8. The town noted this recap summarizes the meeting and does not replace official minutes.
