DEDHAM — The Dedham School Committee held a hearing on inter-district school choice but delayed a vote on withdrawing from the program. Superintendent Murphy recommended opting out, citing Dedham's lack of history with the $5,000-per-student, $75-fee program and the district's aging facilities; a vote is expected next meeting. Dr. Stetson unveiled a "One Student, One IEP" initiative giving students input into their own education plans starting at age three, and Murphy reported the district's special education program came back from a state review with "no findings," which she called unprecedented.

The committee also approved $1,000 from the One A Foundation and $2,000 from the Endicott Community Greenhouse, and appointed a new member, Rick, to fill two subcommittee vacancies. A Green Lodge 5K honoring late educator Mark Carney drew about 600 runners.
