Facilities Panel Reviews Draft Building Report

Facilities Master Plan Steering Committee · Meeting of May 21, 2026

Dedham's Facilities Master Plan Steering Committee reviewed a draft buildings-condition report and early survey data at a joint session with the School Committee's Education Model subcommittee. Co-Chair Anthony Rodriguez apologized for late meeting materials and committed to a 48-hour advance notice going forward. Committee member Ryan O'Toole said outreach efforts have been ongoing "via many different avenues from social, emails, flyers through the school system," ahead of a June 15 community meeting.

A consultant presenting survey results said the town had drawn 390 responses to its facilities condition survey, which closes May 24. The draft report, built on a one-to-four facilities condition index modeled on state methodology, flagged recurring building envelope, ADA accessibility and fire-safety deficiencies across town buildings. At-large member Tom Ryan, a former School Committee member, joined the panel.
